چکیده

As large-scale wind turbines are connected to the grid, modeling studies of farms essential power system dynamic research. Due large number in farm, detailed each turbine leads high model complexity and low simulation efficiency. An equivalent method for farm is needed reduce complexity. For with widely used doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs), existing mainly focus on such continuous control parts as electrical control. These methods unsuitable voltage ride through (LVRT) part which discontinuous due switching Based particle swarm optimization (PSO) density-based spatial clustering applications (DBSCAN), this paper proposes an LVRT characteristics farms. Firstly, multi-turbine established. Each represents a cluster similar variation characteristics. A single transmission line connects all grid. By changing terminal threshold enter LVRT, can be different states. Secondly, parameter based PSO obtain parameters turbines. This applicable parameters. Thirdly, DBSCAN suitable clusters classify distances into same cluster. Finally, two examples set up verify proposed method.

Equivalent modeling of PMSG-based wind power plants considering LVRT capabilities: electromechanical transients in power systems

Hardware protection and control action are two kinds of low voltage ride-through technical proposals widely used in a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). This paper proposes an innovative clustering concept for the equivalent modeling of a PMSG-based wind power plant (WPP), in which the impacts of both the chopper protection and the coordinated control of active and reactive powers a...

GA-Based Optimal LQR Controller to Improve LVRT Capability of DFIG Wind Turbines

Nowadays, the Doubly-Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs) based Wind Turbines (WTs) are the dominant types of WTs connected to grid. Traditionally the back-to-back converters are used to control the DFIGs. In this paper, an Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC) is proposed to control the generator. Compared with back-to-back converters, IMCs have numerous advantages such as: higher level of robustness, r...

Review of Control Strategies for Dfig Wind Turbine to Enhance Lvrt Capability

Wind energy is the fastest growing renewable energy source. Double Fed Induction Generator, which is predominantly used nowadays in wind turbines, is very sensitive to grid disturbances and can damage the power electronic converters due to over voltage and over current. Therefore, protection elements which disconnect the machine during fault are very essential. But, in such cases, the reliabili...
